What's Up Bro?...On seemingly endless stretches of desert highway and inside cramped, hot clubs, a friendship was formed between two bands that would last a lifetime. This split EP carries the torch of the bond formed in heat of those southern nights... nah, not really. Actually, this record is just an excuse to get the funniest thing we have ever heard out on CD; a gripping piece of dialog from someone we like to refer to as "Drunk Tony". Actually we do love Errortype:11. They are one of the few bands we really connect with as people and as musicians. Part of that connection was formed after one listen to the Drunk Tony archive.
After the tour I got a call from Phil (ET:11 guitarist). He said they had an extra song left after finishing their latest album, "Amplfied to Rock" and wanted to know if we'd be into doing a split 7". Well, things grew from there and we ended up taking full advantage of the opportunity. When he asked me about a possible title for the record, we both just laughed because we both knew what the other was thinking.
We had a few new songs ready to go so we booked some time at a new studio, Revolver Recordings in Costa Mesa, and finished up right before the dawning of the new milennium. Along with the two new tunes, we cooked up a cover of "Change Of Heart" by Tom Petty (Todd's favorite).
There's some really great music on here. The cover tunes are really fun and I think that "How Far Is Goodbye?" is one of the most complex songs we've ever recorded. And of course there's the greatest recording ever of the ramblings of an extremely desperate and intoxicated man.
