It's
hard to say what I think about this release. Part of me wishes it never came out. It's not
exactly the most prolific work we've ever done. Sometimes I feel like these are
recordings best left alone, only to have been heard by the ones who were around when these
songs lived. But it does at least show how far we've come as a band, as people, and as
musicians. The liner notes in the CD say to think of the record not as a compilation of music, but an old photo album or a yearbook. A reminder. The artwork was another trauma altogether. Along with being a document of our learning experiences as a band, it was also a tough lesson for me as a graphic designer. I wanted it to be a very colorful book of pictures and memories. It ended up being more of a ink-soaked nightmare. You live and learn. The highlight on the CD is definitely track 19. It's me and my friend Evan having way too much time on our hands. |
